Popsicles at Grandma's House

When my granddaughter is at my house, she knows there are certain things grandma always has in her refrigerator.  Cheese and salami.  She can count on it and she loves them!  But during this hot season, she's more likely to open the freezer in search of a popsicle!  I try to keep it stocked, and I make my own.  These popsicles are so healthy, you can even serve them for breakfast, lunch or dinner!  And they're not just for little ones.  Hey, I think they taste great myself!

You can make them with any fresh fruit you have in the house.  Today I have a kiwi, peaches, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, cherries and a little watermelon. Cut everything (except the blueberries and blackberries) into bite sized pieces.  If your kids are around and needing something to do, let them make these themselves.  It will keep them busy for a few minutes!

Place the fruit into your popsicle molds.  I have collected quite a few of these over the years. They're inexpensive and come in fun shapes that kids love.  I like to put the small fruit, like berries in the bottom and then "puzzle" the rest in around that.

When you have them filled, gently pour in white grape juice, or any kind of juice you like.  The clear juices make for the prettiest popsicles.

Place the sticks on the molds and put in the freezer.  In a few hours, you're ready when the kids ask for another snack, and because these are 100% fruit, you won't even hesitate.

 P.S.  The molds with the straws are especially loved around here!
